Then if you decide you need help with publishing itself, there are those expenses. If you need the book to be formatted by a graphic designer, then there are those expenses. Do you really know how to write sales copy or do you hire that out? All this is before you print your first book! So, what if you want to publish and print the book, but you don't have the ability to pay for them? Does the book just sit there on your computer while you wait for your luck to change? Or do you find other ways to get your message out there?

The good news is, any message can be produced in many mediums, and resources exist for each one. Software tools exist for each one. Professionals exist for each one. These days, video is a viable medium on which to publish your message, especially if it is an information product. Audio books are viable products, although they are being directly challenged by the likes of Kindle because of their new audio capabilities. But again, video and audio producers cost money or if you're a do-it-yourselfer, the software costs money.

To create a quality product that people will want to buy, be able to find, and understand will cost money at some point. If you're not sitting with several hundreds to several thousand dollars in the bank ready to pay for all of this, then you're going to have to find a way to get the money for these tasks.

Every author wants their readers to like the

However, in my experience as both an author and a publisher, only in a couple of cases have my authors or I taken the time to assess whether our books 'feel good' to read. The books we publish are informative, entertaining and helpful, but I wanted to know if they felt good to read.

Many movie reviews will announce, "That movie is the 'the feel-good' movie of the year!" What does 'feel good' actually mean and how do you produce it deliberately? Is 'feel good' just one of those intangible qualities that only some creative properties are lucky enough to have?

After publishing 200 books and reviewing countless others, I decided to revamp my existing fiction novel in a very interesting fashion. The resulting book told the exact same story, but the readers' reactions to it were dramatically different. Everyone called it a 'feel-good' book.

This is not to infer that arthritis is only a disease of the elderly, Arthritis in its varied forms affects children, teens and young adults in surprising numbers however it is more widely accepted as a process of aging.

An estimated 46 million adults in the United States reported having been told by their physicians or health advisers that they have some form of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, or fibromyalgia. That's one in every five adults in the United States alone. By the year 2030, it is estimated that over 67 million of Americans aged 18 years or older will have medically diagnosed arthritis of one form or another. A surprising statistic to most people is that almost 300,000 children under age 18 have one or another form of arthritis, representing approximately one in every 250 children.

The most common form of arthritis is osteoarthritis. An estimated 21 million adults have osteoarthritis. Other prevalent related conditions include gout, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. Another estimated 2.1 million adults suffer from rheumatoid arthritis. Gout has been diagnosed in an estimated 5.1 million adults and it is estimated 3.7 million more adults have fibromyalgia. These figures have been generated by the National Center for Disease Control.

Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy, often called BPH, refers to enlargement of the prostate gland in men. It is also referred to as adenofibromyomatous hyperplasia, and is found in most men to some degree after the age of 45. Unfortunately most men will suffer some degree of BPH once they reach middle age or older. Enlarging prostatic growth usually begins at approximately age 30 years in otherwise healthy men, and an estimated 50% of men have evidence of BPH by age 50 years, and 75% by age 80 years. In only about 40% to 50% of these patients, does BPH become clinically significant.

Between 350,000 to 400,000 men a year in the United States will require some form of treatment to relieve their urinary obstruction caused by BPH.

Fortunately today this treatment offers options not available before the past two decades. Until the 1990s surgery was the primary treatment and radiation was coming into its prime. Today, there is quite effective medical treatment for this disorder.

It should be noted and emphasized that having BPH does NOT mean a man is more or less likely to get prostate cancer. BPH is not cancer and is in no way related physically or structurally to cancer. They are two very different diseases. Learn what you can do to improve your symptoms and live more comfortably. Learn the difference between the symptoms of BPH and Prostate Cancer. Become an informed patient so that you can help your doctor help you to live a much more comfortable life!

Recently, while working on my Kindle book, "VB Strings", the topic of autostereograms came up and the curious question was whether they would work okay on a black and white Kindle display instead of just on printed paper. The challenge was on!

After a few days of research, and a breakthrough that allowed me to crunch the core algorithm down to just a few lines of code, my first Kindle stereograms were ready to be tested. They worked very well! The quickest way to share the fun was to go ahead and publish a book of stereogram images for the Kindle, and here it is.

Who is a "Financial Advisor"?

For the purposes of this book, when I talk about a Financial Advisor, I'm talking about a person that helps you pick the right investment accounts and protection strategies that best fit your financial needs. It might be your CPA. It might be your Lawyer. It might be the 401(k) guy that comes into work a couple times a year. More often than not, it is someone that just barely passed a test that allows him to trade securities. (Do you know what advisors say when someone gets a 90% on the Series 7 licensing exam? "You studied 14% too hard!") Or it might be a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) with three other credentials after his name and 30 years in the business. However, there are some basic qualifications that I think all Financial Advisors should have that I'll go over in the first chapter of "The Bull Truth&trade"

Money Doesn't Come with Instructions-

You can turn a dollar bill over and over again and you'll not really know what to do with it. "Should I buy a pack of gum or a soda with it- How do I do that?" Similarly, most people will turn a 100 page investment prospectus over and over and not know what to do with it- and not know how it will hurt them to not know what to do with them. What I have learned about learning about investing is that no one ever reads the prospectus the whole way through, but rather just skims it for vital information. What most people don't know is which information is vital and how to interpret that vital information. That's what financial advisors are for!

So, what do you need to do? You need to know what questions to ask. That includes making sure your Financial Advisors reading the prospectus very carefully. The easiest way to do this is to use a work sheet with a long list of "starter questions" and then ask, "What page of the prospectus was that on?" When the advisor says, "I don't know" pass 'em the prospectus and say, "I can wait while you find that for me."
